dubblefilm is a youthful, creative colour film brand offering pre-treated, special-effect 35mm stocks designed for a distinctive lo-fi, light-leak aesthetic. Compare dubblefilm prices on Filmproof.
dubblefilm launched in late 2017 as a collaboration tied to the Dubble mobile photography app, with Adam Scott among those named in early press coverage. The brand now operates from Barcelona, Spain, where it opened a physical shop in 2024, and has strong ties to Europe's creative film photography scene.
dubblefilm doesn't manufacture its own film stock. It originally partnered with Kono!, a German producer of pre-exposed and special-effect film, before switching production partners in 2019 to Revolog, the Austrian brand with a decade of experience treating and tinting film for creative effects. This partnership allowed dubblefilm to expand its rolls from 24 to 36 exposures. The brand also runs its own processing lab, dubblelab, though the actual film stock itself is produced by these external specialists.
dubblefilm's colour range includes Solar, Bubblegum, Pacific, Apollo, Jelly, Stereo and Treat, mostly rated around ISO 200 or 400, each pre-treated for a distinctive colour cast, light-leak or lo-fi visual effect. Glitch offers a black and white alternative with its own creative character. Most of the range is available in 35mm, with some stocks also offered in 120 format.
dubblefilm is best approached as a creative, experimental brand rather than a source of clean, accurate colour, each stock is designed to add its own personality to your images. Bubblegum and Solar lean into warm, dreamy tones, while Glitch offers a moodier black and white option. Compare dubblefilm prices on Filmproof.
