FilmNeverDie is a Melbourne-based film retailer and lab known for its own line of boldly packaged, creatively branded colour films alongside a huge range of major film brands. Compare FilmNeverDie prices on Filmproof.
FilmNeverDie was founded in 2011 in Melbourne, Australia, by married couple Gary and Wei Wei Wong. The story famously began when Gary struggled to find Polaroid film for Wei Wei and discovered The Impossible Project, starting out reselling Polaroid packs on eBay before growing into a full photography business with a physical store in Melbourne's CBD and an Asia-facing storefront.
FilmNeverDie is fundamentally a retailer and processing lab rather than a manufacturer, stocking major brands including Kodak, Fujifilm, Lomography, Harman, CineStill and Ilford. Its own-branded lines are custom-packaged films with distinctive designer artwork, though the underlying film stock is sourced rather than coated in-house, consistent with many boutique brands in this space.
Chameleon 100 is FilmNeverDie's E-6 colour reversal (slide) film, which can also be cross-processed for creative colour shifts. UMI 800 is a fast colour negative film built for low-light shooting using standard C-41 processing, while SORA 200, IRO 200, Kuro 100 and Dragonfly 100 round out a colourful, creatively branded catalogue of own-name 35mm stocks, each with distinctive packaging designed in-house.
For a genuine slide film experience with room to experiment through cross-processing, try Chameleon 100. For low-light colour negative shooting, UMI 800 is the practical choice. Beyond its own range, FilmNeverDie is also a good one-stop source for all the major film brands alongside processing and scanning services. Compare FilmNeverDie prices on Filmproof.
