About Hanalogital

The Story of Hanalogital

Hanalogital is run by Hanna Beltran Valderrama, based in Deidesheim, Germany, who launched the brand in April 2020 as a small independent shop. It remains a genuinely one-person operation, built on a technique known as film souping, where standard colour negative film is soaked in various chemical baths to create unpredictable colour shifts and textures.

Hanalogital doesn't coat its own emulsion. Instead, it starts with existing 35mm C-41 colour negative film and hand-manipulates it, developing dozens of different "soup" recipes through extensive personal testing to create a range of consistent, signature effects, alongside some pre-exposed rolls designed for light-leak style results.

Hanalogital's Camera Film Ranges

Hanalogital's range includes stocks such as Bokeh, Charoite, Halo, Spirals, Prism, Opal, Leak and Fluorite, all 35mm colour negative film in ISO 200 or 400, processed using standard C-41 chemistry. Each name reflects a distinct colour treatment or visual effect, from soft colour shifts to pronounced light leaks, giving photographers a wide palette of creative looks to choose from.

Choosing the Right Hanalogital Film

Because every roll is hand-treated in small batches, expect some natural variation between rolls, part of the appeal for photographers chasing one-of-a-kind results. Try Halo or Leak for pronounced light-leak effects, or Bokeh and Opal for more subtle colour shifts. Compare Hanalogital film prices on Filmproof.
