About SilberSalz

The Story of Silbersalz35

Silbersalz35 is a product line from Silbersalz Film GmbH, a Stuttgart-registered business with roots in advertising and film production, led by Thomas Bergmann and Kyrill Ahlvers. The photography-focused Silbersalz35 line launched around 2019 as a specialist offshoot of the wider Silbersalz business, rather than a long-established emulsion manufacturer with its own founding story in stills photography.

Unlike many creative rebrand brands, Silbersalz35 is explicit about its sourcing: it respools genuine Kodak Vision3 motion picture film stock into 35mm still-camera cassettes, marketed as authentic, unaltered cinema film rather than a modified or specially treated product. Kodak itself has publicly acknowledged the partnership, underlining that this is a legitimate route to shooting real cinema-grade emulsions outside the film industry.

Silbersalz35's Camera Film Ranges

The range covers four genuine Kodak Vision3 stocks: 050D and 250D, both daylight-balanced at ISO 50 and 250 respectively, and 200T and 500T, tungsten-balanced options at ISO 200 and 500 for artificial and low light. As true motion picture film, these stocks require specialist ECN-2 processing rather than standard C-41, which Silbersalz35 can arrange as part of a processing and scanning bundle.

Choosing the Right Silbersalz35 Film

For daylight shooting, 050D offers exceptionally fine grain, while 250D provides more flexibility. For evening and artificial light, 200T and 500T bring genuine tungsten-balanced cinema colour to still photography. Because these are true cinema stocks, remember to arrange ECN-2 processing rather than sending them to a standard C-41 lab. Compare Silbersalz35 film prices on Filmproof.
